Romans 1:16-17

Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Wow look at the life of Paul: he had been in prison, chased out of Thessalonica, actually smuggled out of Berea, ridiculed in Athens, the Corinthians called him a fool, and he was stoned but in all those struggles and trials Paul still wanted to go to the center of the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul knew that no matter what came his way he was under the authority and the grace of God and did not fear man. Paul stood proudly not boasting in himself but boasting in the Lord Jesus Christ. As our verses today say that God’s righteousness is revealed from person to person that comes to a saving knowledge in repentance and confession of Jesus Christ. As we live our lives as children of God we need to be ready in “ALL” circumstances to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We read in 1 Peter 3:13-17 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
